Tsunami surge hitting Christchurch
Tuesday, March 2, 2010

Fortunately we escaped any devastating effects from the Chilean earthquake, but our coast line still experience some fairly dramatic tidal flows.

This footage shows one of 5 waves that surged into the Heathcote & Avon estuary at Christchurch.

We had some similar surges up North. Doesn't look too destructive, but there was still some power in the surges even though it was pretty small.
